Our Story
Keep Doggie Safe started rather dramatically. In late 2006, we were walking our dog, Wrigley, a Bichon Frise, at night with a lighted leash around downtown Sierra Madre, California. Seeing us walking, a driver slammed his car brakes and asked us where we got the leash. Then, people came out of restaurants in town asking us the same question. We thought there could be a business here! So, we researched the market and decided to start selling lighted products for dogs with a goal of keeping both dogs and their owners safe.

We started selling the lighted collars and leashes at fairs but word spread fast. We started a website with the same passion to help people and have never looked back. Over the last five years, our loyal customers have helped us grow. While our product mix has evolved, our goal has stayed the same - to keep you and your dog safe.


Our business has grown rapidly and we are committed to talking with customers to ensure they find the right product for their needs. All of our employees have dogs and all of their dogs wear our products. We know the products inside out and will always give you an honest answer about what product will work best for your dog.

Our goal is customer satisfaction. We offer great products at great prices and ship them to you fast. Most orders ship the same day we receive them. We back that up with a customer service policy designed to keep you happy and your dog secure.

We train our employees to know the products we sell and to be able to answer any questions and advise you on the best products for your needs.

We offer a generous and simple return policy, if you are not happy with a product for any reason, just send it back in good condition within 30 days.

Our Products


We test our products with a panel of dog testers of all sizes and breeds. We don’t sell products with high defect rates. If we stop carrying a best-selling product (and we have), you can be sure there is a good reason. When you shop on our store, you can be sure we have taken off products that did not earn our seal of safety.


Helping Dog Charities

Whenever possible we reach out to help dog charities. This year we have sent dog collars to Japan for the search and rescue efforts and helped the rescue effort in Joplin, Missouri. Additionally, we have helped local charities as well as other organizations throughout the US.

We adhere to the same passion and business standards in this business as we do for Keep Doggie Safe. We manufacture some of our products on Mexican Train Fun. All products that we manufacture are made in the USA. Our other website, www.goldstandardebusiness.com helps other ecommerce merchants with their stores.
