The waterproof Hurtta fleece jacket is a lighter version of the fleece overall. It is particularly well suited to situations that call for extra warmth but require a garment that is easy to put on.
The Hurtta Winter Dog Jacket is a great way to keep your dog warm on the coldest winter days. It protects your dog's major muscle groups and tender abdomen area. The jacket can be put on and taken off quickly, making it perfect for warming up your active dog's muscles before or after training.
Why Get a Dog Coat?
It is unhealthy and uncomfortable to be cold. Dog breeds that are originally from warm climates need protection, particularly in Winter. These breeds typically do not have enough protective fur for the winter, as their fur is not thick enough.
A dog’s age, size and state of health also affects how well it can withstand cold. Slender breeds freeze faster because their mass in proportion to the area that dissipates warmth is smaller.
Dog coats are especially useful for:
Dogs with soft and long coats, which become dirty and wet easily
Dogs that suffer from allergies or skin problems, as the coat keeps your dog dry and away from allergens that might irritate them.
Keeping your home clean. When your dog wears a coat, the amount of dirt carried into the home is reduced significantly, especially in muddy and wet weather.

Measuring your dog Note: See the Video on the Size Guide Tab for more information.
1. Measure your dog from the top of their shoulders to the base of their tail, while the dog is standing in a normal position. When measuring the back length, be very careful as depending on the dog's position, the dimensions may vary by inches.
2. The neckline measurement should be taken at the base of your dog’s neck, which is the widest part
3. The chest measurement should be taken at the widest point of the chest, from behind the front legs. To ensure sufficient room for movement, allow 2” more for a small size and 4-8 inches for a large size. Breeds with long and thick fur need more room for the chest than dogs with short fur.
4. Measure their front leg length from the bottom of the rib cage along the inside of the leg to the wrist bone. The front leg length should be shorter than the inside length of the dogs leg. So that the dog can safely run and play while wearing the overalls, the front legs should at most reach the dog’s wrist.
For the Micro Vest take the chest measurement behind the ribcage
Males generally take a size bigger than females
