The HyperKewl Dog Cooling Vest continually pulls the heat out of the dog's bloodstream as it rushes past the veins in their neck. The coolness circulates throughout the dog's whole body and can keep their body temperature at a comfortable level all day long. They literally get cooled from the inside out!
The Dog Cooling Vest is made of 100% cotton material, so it can be worn all day comfortably. It is the highest quality polymer, which is made in America not Indonesia. It lasts longer and works better. It absorbs 400 times its weight in water and is non-toxic so it will not irritate the skin or be harmful if chewed.
The HyperKewl Evaporative Dog Cooling Coat is a safe and cost effective way to keep your dog cool be it indoors, outdoors, during exercise or just daily play. The cooling coat is lightweight and durable, economical and effective at keeping your dog cool in hot, dry weather.
“As Seen on GOOD MORNING AMERICA”
The Dog Cooling Vest was a featured product in Whole Dog Journal -JULY 2011. The principle at work here is the powerful cooling properties of evaporation. Dogs do not have sweat glands, and it is critical to not trap heat but to let the evaporation work its magic. The whole idea is to stay comfortable, and let the evaporation cooling process do the work.
PLEASE NOTE: Prices vary by size
The most important factor in choosing the right size cooling vest is the girth of your dog. This will allow the most effective cooling around the most affected part of your dog and allows the vest as a whole to fit properly. The back measurement is also important, but secondary to the girth measurement.
Here is the girth measurement for these vests:
Dog Cooling Vests Buying Guide:
Important Note: If you live in a humid climate, we recommend the Dog Cooling Jacket. It provides better cooling because it uses ice packs, which keep the dog cooler longer. This vest doesn't function as well in humid climates. Note to Bulldog Owners and other dogs that are difficult to fit - Bulldogs are VERY DIFFICULT to fit. Once you account for their necks, and their girth, often the vests that are big enough around are too long for them. Also, many Bulldogs can't stand water, so they are a bad candidate for the evaporating cooling vest. If you are getting a vest for a Bulldog, we recommend the Guardian Dog Gear Vest,, which just seems to fit them better. The easiest solution, however, is to forget about a vest altogether and get them a medium or large cooling pad. There's no water involved, and dogs love them. Plus, you don't have to mess with the bulldog's unusual size. This is also a good solution for other dogs that are unusually sized.

Why Do I Need a Dog Cooling Vest?
As we near the end of August, the days are still hot and humid – they don’t call them the Dog Days of Summer for nothing! There’s still plenty to do outdoors and your dog enjoys being outside, too. However, just as the heat affects you, it affects him as well. Dogs are susceptible to heatstroke just as their human owners are, so understanding the warning signs and being proactive in keeping your dog cool is key to keeping him comfortable and possibly saving his life in hot weather.
Heat Stroke in Dogs:
When we get hot, we sweat. Sweating is how the human body protects itself from overheating. Dogs however, do not sweat. They only have sweat glands in the pads of their paws, which helps with some heat dissipation, but for the most part, they pant. Panting eliminates excess heat from a dog’s body. When panting isn’t enough, the dog’s body temperature rises and can be fatal if not corrected immediately.
What to Look For:
Heat exhaustion and heat stroke in dogs presents itself in the following ways:
What to do:
If you notice signs of heat stroke in your dog, immediate action is vital. You have to get your dog’s body temperature down quickly to avoid brain damage, kidney failure, blood clots or even death.
Tip: Don’t try to bring your dog’s temperature down too quickly or expose him to extremely cold water as this could send his body into shock and present a host of other complications.
Heat Stroke Prevention:
Here at Keep Doggie Safe, we are all about… well, keeping doggie safe. We like that old saying that goes, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” In the case of heat stroke, this couldn’t be more true. Making sure your dog is protected from heat stroke in the first place is a smart move, and we have just the thing – Dog Cooling Vests.
